ACTION: The Right To Care For Our Own Health Under Immediate Threat - Bill C-6

My sincere apologies if you feel this email is unsolicited,
unwanted, or duplicated. But I feel obligated to spread the word about what is
about to happen. I urge you to take a few minutes to read
the information below.
While the public is being distracted by
the media, in matters which are mostly unimportant, the bureaucratic base which
underlies our government is busy eroding our rights and freedoms, through
enforcement agencies such as Health Canada. If allowed to proceed, they will
dramatically reduce the tools at our disposal to care for
ourselves.
After reducing the natural products on the market from
70,000+ in 2004 to under 40,000 in 2009, as the first attachment below outlines,
Health Canada is poised to knock out over half of the natural health products we
currently have left to support and enhance our health. Recently, it was
reported that during a plant inspection, an established Health Canada inspector
stated that by the end of their enforcement action planned for 2010, that he
expected 50-70% of the industry now in existence to
be eliminated. The planned game they are playing is this:
Though many
herbs are extremely well studied individually, the amounts studied are obviously
larger than that found in a synergystic combination of ingredients, (because of
space issues.) The NHP Regulations stipulate that if every ingredient in
an NHP combination product is not in an amount previously
established to be of benefit, to continue to be sold the product either has to
be subjected to a clinical trial, or withdrawn from the market. Of course,
because NHP's by definition are unpatentable, no company in their right mind is
going to lose the money doing such studies, because upon successful completion,
everyone else will simply copy their product. Approximately 20,000 more products
will be incrementally disallowed in this manner through license
refusals.
Health Canada has known this right from
the outset, because we pointed it out to them repeatedly as the
regulations were being put in place. We were met with silence. No
Comment.
So what we are witnessing is the pharmaceuticalization of
natural health products. An assessment system designed for pantentable, single
pharmaceutical substances is being applied to unpatentable, extremely complex
natural substances that work together synergystically. And this is what Health
Canada is about to eliminate. They know effective combination NHPs pose the
biggest market threat to drugs, and this is why they were so resistant to giving
natural products their own category........so they could keep them categorized
as "DRUGS" and subject them inappropriately to the same
standards.
Conspiracy theories ,(or facts), aside, I do not think it is
coincidental that in the face of mass vaccinations for a flu that is less
virulent than your average garden variety, that Health Canada has most recently
barred Colloidal Silver for sale, i.e. one of the
oldest and most broad spectrum natural antimicrobials on the
market.
Please forward this email to anyone you think would be
interested, but remember that it is even more important that, as opposed to
simply forwarding it, we EACH take personal
responsibility to send in the attached (seven) letters

- If you live in Vancouver, there is a rally to be held in front of the
Fisheries & Oceans Canada office: 401 Burrard - Burrard and Pender in
Vancouver, in the square on Thursday, August 20, 2009 at NOON. The rally is
called by The Wild Salmon Circle, a group of concerned citizens who want to see
open-net salmon farms taken off our coast permanently.
- Alex says:
- When the Broughton pinks collapsed in 2002, their migration route was
cleared of fish farms and the next generation survived better than has ever been
recorded for the species. This was not what government hoped for and it was
swept under the carpet. I was asked to be scientific reviewer for a paper on
this submitted to a European journal by a very senior DFO ?scientist? and I had
to fight for months to get the fallow action even mentioned. DFO was trying to
present that return of pinks as if it had happened magically among the farms.
Now there is a DFO paper that reportedly says young salmon can survive 7 lice,
but the paper does not actually present this data. A Clayoquot ?sea lice? study
partnered with the fish farmers does not present any analysis on the
relationship between fish farms and lice, it did not put fish farms on their
map, it does not even mention salmon farms in the main body of the text and it
is saying sea lice are correlated with salt not farms. There is no data shown to
support this theory.
- I don?t know what else we need to realize something is corrupt here, but I
don?t want to waste anymore years arguing the science, it is useless they are
too big and too powerful. But now we have something that is easy to understand
and impacting many people. Catastrophic collapse ? DFO says they don?t know
why, but they know, in absence of any data, that it was not the fish farms and
the Minister is in Norway selling Canada to fish farmers right now.
- If 100,000 British Columbians stood up and said ?no more? DFO has put wild
salmon first we could end this madness. To do this all the signatures have to
appear in the same place otherwise we will be accused of duplicates. Please
please consider sending an urgent missive out asking your members, email list
etc to sign the letter at www.adopt-a-fry.org and spread the word -
simply asking DFO to apply the laws of Canada (the fisheries act) to fish farms.
The industry could not continue operating if this happened, it would have to
undergo major change.
- Please consider endorsing my efforts here. And if any of you know anyone at
Mountain Equipment Coop could you mention this situation to them? They turned me
down when I asked them to inform their million members about the letter and
opportunity to take stand on this. Their customers are all this might take to
turn the tide. Think about what happened in Broughton ? farms removed, better
survivorship than ever recorded and people in Ireland and Scotland have seen the
exact same thing!
