Supplement maker in feud with Ottawa Ryan Stutt Calgary Herald 6-6-2 A battle is brewing, pitting a possible Alberta-made treatment for mental illnesses against Health Canada's regulation of natural health products.
Health Canada spokesman Ryan Baker says his department is investigating E.M.Power+, a vitamin and mineral supplement created in the southwestern Alberta town of Cardston.

EU Food Supplements Directive: "The proposed Food Supplements Directive now in front of the European Parliament brings EU official arrogance to new heights" said health trade representative Martin Forde, speaking at a meeting of the European Health Freedom Alliance in Dublin last night. "It seeks to ban so many vitamin and mineral ingredients that have been used safely for years that, under pressure from all sides, the officials have offered to temporarily permit existing ingredients – if they can be proven to be harmless. But after the temporary permission runs out, they would be banned anyway!
